The Illinois Real Estate Broker's License replaces the salesperson's license. The real estate broker must be employed by a sponsoring broker and work under the supervision of a managing broker.
The Illinois Real Estate License Act requires that an applicant for a broker's license must:

Be at least 21 years of age

Hold a secondary school diploma or GED

Be employed by a sponsoring broker or property management firm

Successfully complete 90 credit hours of broker pre-license education

Pass a state exam

Complete post license education prior to first renewal
