Correspondence Course Policies and Procedures
The workbook includes quizzes that need to be completed and submitted for scoring. You must score 75% on all the quizzes. Once all quizzes are passed with a score of 75% an appointment is set for the course final. The final is a proctored exam and administered by appointment at our Corporate Office in Aurora. A student may arrange for proctored testing in the student's area if the student is outside of a 50 mile radius of Aurora.
You must receive a score of 75% on the final exam. Two retests are permitted.
A certified transcript shall be issued upon successful completion of the course.
You have a minimum of two weeks up to six months to complete the courses in which you are enrolled.
Proctored Exam Procedure
If you are within 50 miles of our Aurora location must complete the course final(s) at our Aurora location. Testing is by appointment only. At the time of testing, the student will have the opportunity to review the exam and ask questions. Certificate of completion is issued immediately.
A student living more than 50 miles from our Aurora location may elect to use an acceptable proctor. A proctor is a disinterested third party not related to the student by blood, marriage, or any other relationship which would negatively influence them from properly administering the exam. In addition the proctor may not be an Illinois Real Estate Licensee nor any individual with which you have a personal relationship.
Examples of acceptable proctors are: public libraries, community colleges, practicing attorneys, and real estate boards. The Illinois Academy of Real Estate must approve any other proctor. Before you begin the course, contact a service provider in your area and have them return a Request for testing Proctor form. When the course is completed, test will be sent and exam completed in your area. You are unable to review the tests or ask questions when using an outside proctor. Certificate of completion is issued after proctor returns exams and exams have been reviewed.
